What is Construction/Permanent financing?

A Construction/Permanent loan is a loan that is closed once all your selections for your home have been made. Typically, the loan is an ARM (adjustable rate mortgage). The benefit of this type of financing is that during the construction phase of the home, you pay only for the portion of money that has been used to build the home. Gradually, the payments increase until construction has been completed. At that time, (and depending upon your lenders available options) you will convert to a permanent loan of your choice.
